The June monthly SDC Beekeepers meeting will be held starting at 6:30 PM on June 22th at the Unitarian Universalist Church located at 107 W. Barcelona Rd, Santa Fe, in the library.
We plan to discuss summer management of our hives including both feeding during a “dearth”, and ways to provide a source of water for your bees, which they bring back to the hive to create, among other things, a “swamp cooler” effect to keep the hive cooler in the heat of summer.
One of our members has suggested that we share pics of the water sources for our bees, whether it be a natural source or a dish with rocks, or a poultry feeder. If you are interested in participating, send your pics to steve1957@icloud.com.
